The greater Redding Ca home inventory is shrinking indicating that things should start to pick up soon. If this holds it shows that this area may indeed be less susceptible than other areas and this area's prices won't go down as far as other area's like merced/fresno/stockton.
There are still many people that love the mountains/trees/river/lakes etc and for that reason alone-Recreation I see this area somewhat insulated again major damage in the downward price spiral.
One thing is for sure...when the inventory gets down around 1200 or so I bet we start seeing some local press on it and then those little homes that were $229k are overnight listed at $259k or higher! In that sense now is a great time to get in while interest is LOW...AFTER the election I bet money that the rates will start up again...They have to with inflation etc.
