March is coming to an end and that means one thing...April is next and so is EARTH DAY...It's a great time to remember green. A great time to teach our children more about green and go to a local event to help out!

Locally here in Redding the City of Redding puts on a demonstration and event at the new City Hall on Cypress Ave.Last year was a hit with many booths and great info and freebies. Everything from Wind to Solar Power was represented last year along with a host of other cool things...even free Green Pen's from the city!

Check it out again this year April 25th 2009 at the City Hall on Cypress Ave.

The official Earth Day is the 22nd but the City's event is on a Sat.Not too many would go mid week!

Living in California affords us the Luxury of having a great Governor that understands "Green"! This years Green Summit is sure to be a hit and next years event even larger and better! We are very fortunate to have Governor Schwarzenegger at the helm in this time of transition to going "Green".

There are tough choices that have to be made and short term sacrifices that must be chosen to help make California the leader in the "Green" movement!

Here is a quote from Jim Butler-

Great work Mr. Schwarzenegger on your commitment to doing the right thing at the right time!

Green Technology and green jobs should continue to add more people to the work force in California in the coming years.

It's great to see some incentive for new home buyers. I can say that if anything the new tax credits should get some people off the fence!

Here is the skinny....the new State and Federal incentives area as follows:

California-Purchase a "New home" and get up to $18,000 in Tax Credits!

The California credit is for up to $10,000 and is not a loan. You must stay in the home for at least 2 years!

The home purchase has to be a "New Home" and not an existing one!

If you buy your home between now and March 1st of 2010 you qualify.

The tax credit is broken down like this- If you qualify for the full $10,000

you will get $3,333 per year back on your taxes! It's not a one time benefit but

is spread out over 3 years.

On the Federal side only "First time" home buyers will qualify for the $8,000 tax credit.

 

Keep in mind that the Generous California Tax Credit is LIMITED to the FIRST 10,000 purchases!!

 

What does this mean to you if you are a first time buyer and have been sitting on the fence?? Get shopping! Take advantage of one of the best things to happen in real estate in the last many years! They won't be giving money away forever here folks!

What a great event! The first annual Redding Sundial Film Festival went over super! There were probably 400-500 people that attended Saturday's premiere. The event was such an inspiration to see such excellent local talent in not only photography but Video/Film.

I am guessing that next years event will be even larger with even more entries now that the word is out and so many people seemed to truly enjoy the event.

We met some great people at the event such an James and Yvonne from enjoy magazine and Doni and Bruce Greenberg from "A News Cafe" and others!

Everyone seemed in a great mood and we experienced some incredible films and photos!

Looking forward to next years event already!

I just read an interesting article where on of the top newscasters in the United States-Brian Williams asked viewers to suggest some good news to report! Imagine that...good news for a change...What a concept! Well he was bombarded with thousands of people giving him "Good News" tips to report on...Good for you Brian!!

You see people are getting Sick and Tired of all the BAD NEWS...yes there are bad things happening daily and we all know that traditional media has been trained like a good dog to sniff out and PUSH BAD NEWS...BAD NEWS SELLS....at least they think it does...

if you look at what is happening around our great Country I subscribe that people are indeed Sick of Bad News...they are Tired of being advertised too and they are wanting a change...just look at the dismal numbers at the local newspapers across the country if you need any proof!

Reaching out and asking the consumer what they want is a Good thing...in fact a GREAT thing...times have changed folks...and are changing by the minute...The new gereration is NOT getting their news on TV or in the Newspapers!!! It's online...

Good news...we need more of it...we need to see more of it,,,,we need to hear more of it....any thoughts on this?

Wow...I thought I had heard it all...finaciers taking people's life savings..people scammed out their hard earned dollar but then I read this article about a group of Girl Scouts that got scammed and Ripped off!

The Crooks used Fake $ 20's to purchase a bunch of Girl Scout cookies!

Well there is a happy ending to this tale...

They say you can't afford one negative thought...I think there is some true to that. If fact there is plenty of research to show that negative thoughts do all kinds of things to our bodies...and none of them are good.
